CL-SERIES (CL 215, 215T & 415) AMPHIBIOUS SCOOPER

Often referred to as “scoopers” or “water bombers,” the De Havilland CL-215, CL-215T, and CL-415  are purpose-built amphibious aircraft designed for rapid and sustained wildfire suppression operations. These aircraft skim across lakes and other suitable water sources to refill their tanks in seconds, allowing them to deliver continuous water drops on nearby wildfires without returning to an airtanker base for refilling. Depending on configuration, CL Series aircraft can scoop and deliver up to 6,140 litres of water, with the option to inject foam suppressant to improve firefighting effectiveness.

Air Spray operates 11 CL Series aircraft on behalf of the Government of Alberta and the Government of Manitoba, supporting wildfire agencies with experienced flight crews and operational support teams.
