AIRTANKER AND TANK SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
In addition to carrying out fire control operations, a large part of our work is the conversion of aircraft to the role of an Airtanker and the development of retardant tank systems that are most effective for wildfire suppression. Our design engineers and aircraft structures specialists play a key role in the development of these new aircraft and tank systems as Air Spray seeks to provide the best aircraft and retardant tank systems for our customers' fire control toolbox.
TANK DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURE AND INSTALLATION
Air Spray is an industry leader in the development of tank systems for airtanker aircraft.
Air Spray develops and installs tanks in a number of aircraft to enable them to carry out the air tanker role. From engineering to Interagency Airtanker Board (IATB) approval, Air Spray has the experience and expertise to develop tanks for airtanker aircraft.
If you are interested in more information on our tank engineering, manufacturing or installation capability, please contact either our US or Canadian offices or click here to email us directly.

EXTERNAL TANKS
Air Spray's RADS II tank is a 3000 gallon capacity external tank with a constant/variable flow computer-controlled door system.
The RADS II tank incorporates two full-length doors that open from the center and operate in unison. The doors operate with full or partial tank fluid levels, precisely controlling the flow regardless of the level of retardant remaining in the tank. The system can deliver any volume, coverage level and line length exactly as requested. Alternatively, the crew can manually initiate and terminate a drop at exact points, including emergency drop procedures. The tank is also equipped with real time monitoring of volume. This feature, coupled with the RADS II door system results in superior wildfire control effectiveness. |
INTERNAL TANKS
The Air Spray IRADS tank is internal to the aircraft and has all of the features of the industry-respected RADS II tank. The IRADS tank is scale-able to any size or type of aircraft, enabling it to be installed in aircraft ranging in size from the BAE146 to the C-130. Just as Air Spray's RADS II tank system set the industry standard, the IRADS out performs all other tanks currently in operation and will be the tank design that produces the most effective results by next generation airtankers.
